Sometimes, I find myself to be an early adopter, and other times, I am a purist who likes to keep it simple.
When it comes to health, nutrition, and food, I like to keep it simple.
Case in point, swallowing multiple vitamin capsules and supplements has never been my favorite, so one day I decided to see what functional mushrooms tasted like.
As it turns out, extracted functional mushrooms are quite delicious.
So delicious in fact that I need to tell you about it too!
My epic and easy ‘Mushy Tea’ is such a delicious way to enjoy the benefits of functional mushrooms any time of day. Not only is every cup packed with goodness but also perfect as a coffee replacement.
How do I make Mushy Tea?
Created with both taste and wellness in mind, ‘Mushy Tea’ is more than just a hot drink; it’s a liquid superfood integrating the potent benefits of Lion’s Mane, Chaga, Reishi, and Cordyceps.
Like all my favorite recipes, I like to use as few ingredients as possible. In this case, all I need are some functional mushroom extracts, hot water, milk of choice, and a couple of spices.
Our very own Mushroom Essentials Complex (MEC) capsules are the perfect base for my mushy’s tea.
The Power Inside Your Cup
MEC contains all four functional mushrooms in a dually extracted, powdered form.
- Lion’s Mane: Known for supporting focus, clarity and concentration.
- Chaga: Appreciated for its rich, earthy flavor.
- Reishi: Sought after for its ability to help unwind.
- Cordyceps: Valued for its natural energy support.
Ingredients:
- 4-6 capsules of Mushroom Essentials Complex (MEC)
- 1 cup of hot water
- 1/4 cup of milk (I prefer coconut milk)
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 teaspoon coconut blossom sugar (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare Your Mug: Choose your favorite mug
- Empty the Capsules: Open 4 to 6 capsules of MEC, based on your taste, and pour the powder into your mug, discard the capsules
- Add Hot Water: Add the hot water to your mug, gently stirring to mix the mushroom powder thoroughly
- Add Milk: Pour in the milk of your choice (I quite like warm coconut milk) for a creamy texture
- More Flava: Spices like organic cinnamon, and vanilla, are excellent additions to any mushy tea. You may also include some coconut blossom sugar if you like
- Enjoy the Moment: Sip, breathe and enjoy 🌈

Morning Smoothie and Other Tips
If you prefer cold drinks, then you can use the contents of the Mushroom Essentials Complex capsules in your morning smoothie.
Add in some bananas, protein, and cacao and you’ve got yourself a winning smoothie!
You might have also noticed that the recommended daily dosage for Mushrooms Essentials Complex is 4 capsules per day.
I use 6 capsules to make this Mushy Tea. Mainly because I use big mugs and like my hot drinks to be super creamy.
